The flat spot on the bottom of the exhaust holes leads me to believe it is a turbo head. Good price if its for a good head.

If you don't need the car as a DD you can sand it and slap some POR15 on it.

I made the decision to give up on my last TC, it was a real tough decision to make even with all the rust. If the car is solid and just needs a little TLC I would personally keep it.

Sounds like your annoyed and aggravated with the car; walk away from it until you have the motivation to work on it. Have a couple of drinks and pretend it doesn't exist.

Really i think that picture in that auction is just a picture and not the actual head. Only reason i say that is because at the bottom it says "Your 2.3 liter head can come many ways, with four or eight spark plugs, turbo or non turbo, and roller or non roller rocker arms. Please include this information, your vehicle's year, and your phone number with area code".

I am bringing my old head to Dale (BogusSVO) today and he is going to rebuild it and probably sell it. He hooked me up on the one I have on my car, you may want to get in touch with him. The head I'm bringing him has NO problems other than it needs a new cam. It got replaced with one that was already rebuilt with an RR setup just for simplicity of install. I lost the head gasket where an oil jacket is and it was leaking oil all over my engine, but the car ran great with it for nearly 30,000 miles. In fact it still ran great even when the head gasket was letting one quart of oil flow out every 30 miles.

Brian, the weakest link in our TC's has got to be the head. The coolant just can't get the heat evacuated quick enough, due to the configuration of the water passages. As for the rust issues, I can show you pictures from rebuilding the copper car that would make you cringe. We made a decision to rebuild from the ground up and it cost a bundle of money. Do we drive it, yeah sometimes. Will it ever be a daily driver? Not while I'm alive!
Take a step back and review your options. Keep the matching numbers car correct? Use the rusty, twisty car for parts? Sell it for parts and use the money for the good car?

A 20+ year old daily driver takes a lot of blood sweat and tears! A 20+ year old nicely preserved TC can bring smiles and cheers!

As for the head, I remember when Glenn had over $3500 in vested in his over time.

If I can help in any way, call or send me an Email.

the guy replied today and seemed a lil "annoyed" that i was questioning it. he said its a 4 plug "d" chamber turbo head. i ordered it. if its a heart shape chamber i got proof he said it is a d-chamber.
275 free shipping, that includes shipping on the core too!
Sorry,i just got a lil flustered with the car. i spend all my money and time on this car i LOVE, and i havn't had enjoyment in a year cuz of the head issues.
i let the evil in me take over and shouldn't have. i have let out some aggression working on this car. on all my TC's
buying Turbo II as a non-turbo TC auto and rebuilding it making it a very reliable daily driver, now a weekend toy...and now i have an identical TC Turbo III i use as a semi daily driver that i swap back and forth between III and my truck.

i took the head off Turbo II in September and havnt done much to it. and im losing my motivation to work on it. but i got my tax return money tonight and the head is ordered, gaskets i will pick up tomorrow. and im ordering cables and rear calipers for III.
i want my semi-fast TC back. and i cant believe i let my anger get the best of me...but at least this time i didn't hit the car.

Turbo II will be my restoration project in a few years once im settled down. but for now i just have to get it running again. thank you guys for keeping me straight and supporting my habit and addiction to these wonderful cars....if i had the space id buy all the ones i could to fix up or supply parts for others ( my dream).
everybody thanks for helping me through this. i wil have turbo II at carisle in june, this time running on all cylinders, not three like it did this past year, lol. maybe turbo III will be there too!
i want Turbo I (dark blue tc in showroom) drivable again...had a accident in 2004(yes i still have it). just needs an engine, some frame work body work and a few parts i swiped for the other cars! im a TC-a-holic

but thanks for helping me, being there, being able to read my jibberish typing and incomplete sentences that make half sense at times.
THANK YOU GUYS! ALL OF YOU!
