Anybody know what size it is? The little 2" piece of silicone hose that goes to the turbo coolant feed. It looks smaller than the other hoses, so I'd guess 1/2" instead of 5/8"?

I seem to remember its 1/4" ID, but don't quote me on that.

Oh wow that tiny eh. Thought I saw 5/16" mentioned in some searches but nothing concrete. I might try and measure the coolant manifold nipple, mine is slightly corroded though.

That seems tiny I'm wondering if it is different on the T3 or IHI. I just looked at mine and I'm guessing it's 1/2", I'm going to buy 1' of silicone heater hose and give it a shot.

Make sure you get high temperature hose or it won't last long.
I replaced the lines on my 86 turbocoupe back when I was younger. I figured it would be fine. Drove 80 miles towards Phoenix and decided to pull into a rest stop and pop the hood. Opened the hood and found the coolant feed hose on fire! Thankfully, I had all the parts to replace the hose and I drove back home instead of pushing my luck further. I ended up at Grainger, buying high temp hose and a heat sleeve for good measure. No more problems after that.

Any recollection of what size hose you used?

Sorry, that was 1996, and about 8 cars ago. I can't recall what I used and all the receipts are long gone

Finally changed it out today. There's no chance in hell it's 1/4" ID, that must be for the IHI on the 87/88. My 84 has 85/86 style coolant manifolds and engine with the T3. I used a 1/2" silicone hose today and it worked great, it could be 7/16" or something but the old hose piece was too deformed to be able to tell.
