i called the ford dearlership they want 50.69 for the spark plug wires, 24.02 for the cap, and 13.55 for the rotor. does anyone know where i can get all of these motorcraft parts cheaper. what brands would be best to use on the engine. i heard that motorcraft is what is best for this car.

Advance Auto carries or can get the 4 wires. Wires are the most critical item. Any good cap and rotor will work. I buy mine at NAPA

I buy mine from O'Reilly's auto parts. I don't know if they are a national or local chain, but they bought out the chain of parts stores that carried ford Motorcraft parts so now they carry them.

The last time I went to ford to get some tunup parts the bill was $122. I told the part guy that it was a pretty steap price. He said "ok" and gave me his discount. I guess I was in luck that day.

I DO NOT have any first hand experience with these guys, but I picked this up from someone who did order from them, and said he got good service.

I'm going to place an order in the next few weeks myself to see how they are. The prices are decent.

I second RockAuto.com, just a very good sight for all cars, motorcraft wires, plugs, rotor and cap will all run you less than 40 bucks, they even carry oem motorcraft standard and platinum, not sure what cars ran platinum stock but there listed as oem, may just be optional.

3rd on rockauto.com for sure if you can wait.
I've probably spent about $1,000 there in the last 6 months for many many people and many different cars.

I even got some free stickers (currently holding pipe insulation quite well) and a $40 coupon towards my next purchase for Christmas. That's about a set of wires [Image: smile.gif]

like Pete D said, advance auto, the 'professional' set, a little more pricey but they seem to be nice wires
