Im sure you know that there are little nuts in the back of the window on the inside of the car , have to take the plastic panel off to get to the back of the 1/4 window . After all the nuts are off, just do a little pushing around the edge and slowly you will get it to come off . On the outside you will have to take the black trim off also , makes it easy to work with and it all has to come off if you want to do a good paint job . Good luck , DW

s10den,
What year of T/C you talking about?? My 86' T/C didn't have any nuts holding the 1/4 windows itself. For the trim around the 1/4 glass, there are a few screws and clips. Yes, be very careful when removing the trim so it don't bend. I'll post some pics of mine as it's taken apart for bodywork/painting itself.
There are, however, nuts, screws, and clips holding the door trim in place. For the T-bird emblem there are 2 nuts holding them on.

s10den,
I just reread your post. You have to take the mirror cover off, remove mirror, remove door panel, remove screws holding the trim at the rear part of the door. Gently pull the window rubber out of the track. You can gently pry the outside window trim up and off. That takes care of the doors. As far as the front and rear glass goes, take a trim removal tool and gently release the trim clips while gently lifting up the trim pieces. The bottom windshield trim has some screws on it. Just take your time and be patient with the trim. Good luck with your paint job. Be sure to post some pics of the completed work Big Grin

Oh crap, Sorry guys its an 88. I have the quarter windows out its the door window trim thats giving me fits. I just came in and saw no nuts holding this on. The mirror and door handle are off just the window and track are left. I think the window rubber will slide out but theres a peice of Aluminum trim thats not playing well. The car is going Candy Brandywine over a Blue Pearl base with Ghost Flames. Seen this on a GTO 3 years ago and is perfect for the TC.

Ah Yes! The sweet smell of success. Finally got it. Had to take the window out first. Found a secret on how to take the body side molding off. Get a can of Goof Off, put some beside the trim and let it soak for a few minutes. Then I pryed the top back with a putty knife and cut the adhesive part with a STEAK Knife. Wife wasnt really impressed but I was.
Thanks for the help guys!

If you ever have to do it again, there is a tool tip that fits into a standard air chisel. It looks like a wide plastic spatula. Works great on the door pieces and between the wheel wells. I got mine at the auto paint supply house where I bought my paint. Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner, maybe your wife would have been more impressed! Smile
