Here is the problem, after a highway run (or warmed up) the idle, in stop and go traffic will stick up at about 2k rpm. When I kick the throttle I can get it to settle back down to about 1k.

Now, I have replaced the TPS, set at .95/.96.
Replaced the IAC after I cleaned the one I had (blasted out with brake parts cleaner) and neither made a differance.
Cleaned out the EGR. Checked for Vacuum Leaks. I ran codes only to repeatedly get 11's. I am completely at a loss. I dont know what else to try?????
Does anyone have any suggestions????

I would pull the codes to see what comes up.

Have you checked all the linkage/ throttle shaft for binding. Make sure the return spring (on the shaft) isn't broken and hasn't slipped

I pulled codes....I got "11's".
The linkage seems ok but if I wiggle it at the throttle body and it does make the Idle a little crazy. Is is possible the throttle body needs some repair?

It could be gummed up in the throttle body. They are not hard to get apart to clean and lube the shaft.

Two obscure but very real causes of this can also be:

1) A short in the IAC harness wire. Try wiggling the wires right above the IAC connector.

2) A bad VAM (trust me on this one). If you can find another VAM to swap out you can find out in a hurry.

Dan I tried the wire harness at the IAC, it seems to be good.
I do have a sneaking suspicion that it is the VAM. I dont know where I can get one to try it out, so I went to the local junkyard, as I expected nothing there.

Is there any other way I can test The VAM?
