What are the signs of a transmission being bad and what are the signs of a clutch needing replaced? These questions are directed towards the 87 TC manual trans model. I just bought the car and well it does not want to shift smoothly. It even was popping out of gear aand difficult to go into gear You have to depress the clutch all the way to the floor to shift and it does not engage till the pedal is almost fully released. I think the clutch needs to be replaced somethign aweful, but I want to be sure it is not also a trans problem. Thansk for the replys and help.
