will the clutch peddle assy. work in a 1988 tbird from a 1981 mustang? want to do a 5 speed swap and have the mustang for parts.

I did the 5-speed swap using 89 4-cyl Mustang parts and they fit straight into 88 TC. I believe that pedal assy in 81 Mustang is same than in newer ones, so it should fit. You can also use Mustang clutch cable if you don't have hydraulic clutch parts. There is a hole in firewall of TC where cable mounts straight without cutting. The hole is normally used for routing boost gauge hose thru firewall, so new one (much smaller)has to be made for it
