tranny ?s

i have an 84 t bird with an 88 trany. what can be done about the mechanical speedo to patch with the electric speedo gear at the tranny. also been having some probs with 1st and 4th gear. when i am in first gear when i am decel. come to stop. good. but if i am in any other gear when decl. then when i release cluth pedal trans pops out of gear and in to neutral. also chatters when going into 4th gear. is this maybe an unalinged clutch cable? or maybe a bad trow out bearing? clutch fork just replaced. any help.

hope you got some money. it is hard to understand it sounds like it is poping out of one or every gear? well anyway i dropped a trans off t5 and it has popping out of first and grinding a bit going into second. dropped it off and it was trashed pretty much every gear needed to be replaced and shift fork. about 800 in parts from cottman. 1500 for a brand new one. follow petes link to hanlon this guy is building a used unit everything is brand new but the gear and box.he is installing all upgraded parts instead of oem. with a one month warrenty. the guy is extremly cool. he is really busy right now. but im getting it for 650. which is a good price for a rebuilt trans.good luck

no it only jumps out of 1st gear. it only grinds in 4th gear. i think it might be the release bearing. i am getting a whining noise in gear, or when the clutch is depressed in neutral i.e. when the shaft is moving.
