i cant get the tps to go any lower than 1.49. i was going to pull it off and elongate the adjustment slots a little more to see if i can get it to set properly. is this a good idea? help.

You can try elongating the slots. Just curious, is this a new or used TPS?

new, from napa. he showed four different ones listed for the car so we physically looked at them to match up the plug.

I just bought a remanufactured one from Advance Auto (GP Sorensen) and its right on the money. I have it set to 0.96 @ 725-750 RPM and it goes to 4.63 @ WOT. They showed two on the Advance Auto computer, but you could see that both sensors were externally different and I was able to pick the right one via the picture [Image: smile.gif]

I would take it back. You shouldn't have to modify the TPS. I have 3 Ford and 1 NAPA TPS. I have not made any modifications to any. Are you sure your throttle body damper is fully closed?

ok. got the tps set to .94 with iac disconnected and timing set at 10 before with spout out. idle is just fine. tps is solid from the base idle through wot. went to test drive and it is still surging badly and jerking like it wants to go but its a dog. bad. its like its not getting enough fuel or enough air. im not saying its not but thats how it feels.

Have you run fuel system diagnostics on it?
