What they don't have is TORQUE, and thats what most American (heteroasexual for duanetc) men like. I love the chassis and body style, I have owned 4 now, two with 5.0's and one beautiful black one soon to have one; the fourth one ended up as a money making parts car. All I am saying is don't knock one unless you have tried one. They are everything and more than a Mustang will ever be, with class, style (and no 4 cylinder vibrator!)

I've driven my fair share of 5.0s and I admit that they have torque. A 2.3 will give you more HP per dollar spent and better gas mileage. Duane made a very good point with those dyno numbers. I always had the desire to take an 87-93 GT and put a 2.3T in it. That is the beauty of hotrodding, you build what you like. He asked for opinions both ways. You obviously don't like the 2.3 as much as the 5.0, the other 99% of the people on this site are the opposite. Just curious, but what does your car run in the quarter? I only ever heard of one other 5.0 conversions timeslips.

I put 80,000+ miles on my car driving it like I hate it. The 2.3 can definitely take it. If you want to do the 5.0 swap go ahead. It is YOUR car. It will run great and if you like it go for it. I just like being able to tell someone that a 3800lb. car with a 2.3 just smoked them. The look, on their faces is priceless.

well after reading through this post and putting my post up ive decided to go with the 5.0 hopefully it will be ready for carslie im tired of fixing the parts that break in the engine i love my cars thats why i brought it but that four cant really handle my type of driving i guess ive previously owed a 5.o mustang and owe a 99 montaineeer with the 5.0 so i know how to work with these engines and they dont give so much problems like the four does i really wanted too make something out of the 4 cyl but to much money is needed and i have that 5.0 tbird just sitting there waiting for a swap so im off so i think you should go for it am
(nato member) comletely rebuilt suspension with additon of caster camber plates lowered with mustang springs painted candy royal blue next up is increase of horse power by any means possable, (second place is just the first loser)
