Tips for replacing fuel tank?

With the upcoming power upgrades I have planned, I’m going to install a walbro 255 fuel pump. While I’m at it, I was thinking of replacing the fuel tank seeing that it is 30 years old. The car sat for a little during previous ownership. Dropping the fuel tank is straight forward but does anyone have any tips/advice for replacing it? Like is there anything specific that should be transferred over or replaced? Thanks

I would replace the filler tube seal while the tank is out, I also check to make sure the straps are still good as well as the strap mounts on the car body. Just checking for structural integrity. Fuel pump assembly is straight forward, always install a new o ring on the assembly. As far as helping to install everything smoothly, use some vasoline on the rubber seals to prevent binding or pinching the rubber.

+1 on the filler neck seal. Part in under $10. Rockauto should have tanks and straps. As noted above, I would replace the straps also.
