I understand the proper timing procedures and all just wondering why my timing mark on the crank pulley would show up at 22BTDC with the snout in... now the kicker, the mark does not show up on spark plug wire number 1, but wire number 4. Does any one know why this would be?

I hope I'm not insulting your intelligence, but did you trace the wire to the plug to make sure it's actually #4? On mine, my distributor was put in a little off so going only by the cap and where the connector is, my #1 spot is clocked to about the #4 spot if I remember correctly.
22BTDC sounds right with the spout IN for timing, based on my limited experience with these cars. You'd get 10BTDC with it OUT, but with it in the computer will advance it even at idle.
Good luck.

Spout in raises the timing about 17-20 degrees over the spout out setting

Yes I am positive it is the number 4 that I was on. I just can't figure out what would cause that.

Thanks Pete I have it all figured out the shop that i had been using is retarded... they had some wires positioned wrong timing is all squared away. But I still can't figure out what this damn noise is to me it sounds mechanical but it is only under load it sounds to me like a rod knock but in my experience that happens and sounds the same regardless of load... or am i way off.... I will work on getting a video of it here in a few to see what you all think it may be. Thanks again for all your help guys...
Here is the video the sound starts at abou 15-18 second mark...

Picture is the correct placement of cap and plug wires. To minimize tension on the wiring harness to the TFI
