OK, well not sure when you talked about the spout , thought it was just the rubber plug on the plastic cover , OOPs . Well just to let you know its up and running and runs great . Just has for now a 3 inch ATR down pipe, but will add the rest of the system after it gets back from the paint shop , getting all the decals put on , so soon my 5 year resto will be done , I Hope ??? Soon then will look for someone that has a 400HP motor for sale , that will top it off .Or keep it stock . Then its up for sale in the next year or two , good car for the B. Jackson auction . Thanks again for the help .

This is what the spout looks like. This one is on my F150 but looks the same as the ones on the later TCs. Yours should have 2 yellow wires and be hanging from the harness that goes to the distributor. Pull the gray plug out of the end to set the timing and replace it when finished.

Thanks for that good photo, for sure i know what their talking about . Its up and running , but did I hurt anything not unplugging the spout ?? Thanks for the info , DW

Your timing won't be correct is you set it with the spout plugged in. Your timing will be several degrees retarded from where it should be. It may run but it's going to be low on power

OK, so at this point can I just unplug it and then plug it back in , will that reset the timing thru the computer ?? If not what my next step if the car is running and I never unplugged the spout in the 1st place . Thanks still for the Help. thought I was done .

With SPOUT plug out, the EEC doesnt control timing advance or retard. You set the base timing with the SPOUT out. Unplugging it and plugging it back in doesnt "reset the computer" or anyting like that. 10 deg BTDC is the stock setting, but many of us run several degrees more advance (12 to 15 deg base). With SPOUT plugged in, the EEC has control of the timing. timing should be 25 to 30 deg BTDC at hot idle with SPOUT plugged in.

You have to use a timing light and move the distributor (spout out) to adjust timing.

OK, I will try to look at it again when it gets back from the paint shop , so far the 20 mile road trip to get the car to the shop went fine and had lots of power still, no power loss . Could have been lucky and timed it just right, with out the spout . If so im ready to buy a loto ticket . Thanks for the big help again , I wish I could make it to the Nato bash cook out in D. Ohio .
