I just gave the 88 a good wash and with the sun setting I thought I should get some pics of her. It has been repainted at some point in her past so it shines nice. Wish I could find a way to get that rear quarter window trim to look better than dry rotted rubber.

88 Turbo Coupe: Intake and exhaust mods, T3 turbo at 24 psi, forced air IC, water injection, BPV, Ranger cam, subframes, etc., etc.

Looking good to me. I have use black shoe PASTE and a tooth brush to make the rear quarter seals look better. It covers the white/gray rotted look for awhile. Not a permanent fix but it helps for a while.

I’ve not seen a black TC that looked this good, kudos to you!

One of the things I’ve always liked about my smoke grey TC was how awesome it looked in twilight and at night, with the dark tinted windows and all. I would think yours also looks awesome.

I also notice that the accent stripe on the rubber trim around the belt line of your car is light blue. That’s something else I have never seen—I thought they were all red.

Can't remember where I read it but the article said to apply a thin layer of vasoline and let the rubber absorb it ( a day or 2 perhaps in the sun ??).  I think it said you could repeat the application until it wasn't absorbed anymore.  In all the years I have yet to try it but now that it's on my mind I'm going to try it.

Hope for all of us it helps. Very nice looking too!

Thanks everyone for the comments. The blue stripe is left over .5 inch striping I had from my old 87 TC that I drove in the late 90's. I still had the tape, so I used it on the 88 when I bought it in 2016. I will try the vasoline trick on the window rubber to see how it works. It can't make it any worse than it is. I was thinking of tinting the windows a bit on her to smooth it out, and the wheels take a lot of effort to keep looking good, I use a roundish dish washing brush to get in there. The car is sitting on 04 GT convertible springs with half a coil cut in the front and some home made 3/4 inch spacers in the back. During the summer, it is my everyday cat for work.
