Didn't come up with much on the search. Anyone know who makes a good thermostat housing? Mine is pitted and the gasket isn't sealing it totally

I seen one on ebay made by four seasons. Looks like a aluminium one which is nice. Wondering if anyone has this one? Had to fix my smart phone spelling errors haha

Try the heavy duty gasket (or whatever they're calling it now) at Auto Zone. Had to use that one on mine as the regular paper one would not work. The upgraded one is a thick plastic with nice rubber on both sides. Worked great for me. It's a couple bucks more and worth it.
...unless your housing is super bad... in which case you can mostly disregard this post lol

I seem to remember some members having problems with some of the Chinese made replacement housings. I think the neck wall was so thick it limited coolant flow and caused some overheating problems. If you go aftermarket replacement, be sure it is exactly the same as the original.

I 2nd the HD thick plastic gasket. Mine wouldn't seal with the standard paper gasket either. Get that one, and you should be good. You can also use some Blue RTV on the paper gasket if you have to, even on a warped/pitted housing, it will seal then regardless.

I actually have this gasket currently. Plastic with the rubber made into it. Its a real nice re-useable gasket from felpro but it must not be totally sealing; the sealing surface has pitting and it must be sneaking out between the gasket and the pitting. Underneath the housing its wet. So I see permatex makes a dedicated sealant for coolant pumps and thermostat housings-I'm looking at a new left over new tube of it right now at work ha! ill just apply a film on both sides to get the seal. I just wanted to see if they are being reproduced by anyone good or not before I use the sealant.

I posted the part # for the NAPA piece (do a old search). It works pretty good. The opening was slightly bigger than the thermostat by like a millimeter or two. But, I consider that a fail safe if the thermostat ever sticks (HaHa). It was about $15.
Car Quest also had one but it was more expensive thats why I chose the Napa piece. Try the Car Quest one and write a review.
