My timing belt broke on the way home yesterday. Thanks to all of the good info here plus a bunch of fiddling to get everything lined up right it is up and running again. It was a little harder because I can't mount the front timing belt cover so I had to guess at the crank TC mark, but one tooth on the belt is quite a bit. Anyway, all is well that ends well.

Could pull the plug in cyl 1 and use a long screwdriver to find tdc if you have to.
