TFI throwing PIP code?

I had a miss at idle and a PIP code. So I replaced the distributor with a reman. It cleared up the miss totally but when I got on it a few blocks the pip fried and the car wouldn't run. I sent back the bum reman for a refund and bought a Motorcraft pip to put in the original distributor. I got the distributor with a fresh pip back in today but It still has a slight miss at idle. Basically my question is if I replace the TFI it should clear up the miss right?

It is recommended that PIP and TFI be replaced at the same time. There are other things that can cause a code 14, if that is what you have. Bad plug wires are one thing, bad grounds and others. Do a search on "code 14"
