I was reading the FAQ for testing the cooling fan controls. There is an acronym there that is not described so I am not sure what to do. "Run the KOEO EEC diagnostic test." How does one perform the above test and what does KOEO mean?
Thanks,
Kelly B

Okay never mind I found KOEO. "Key On Engine Off; a self-test mode of the ECA." But I haven't found ECA. I sill need to know how to peform the test and how to interpret results. Is some diagnostic equipment needed for this? IT was just a bit vague in the FAQ. Is this one of those things where if you need to ask how to do it, you shouldn't be doing it? [Image: smile.gif]

You can do it your self. It means the same thing as "pulling the codes" out of the EEC.
There is another article in the FAQs or Tech articles on how to pull the codes from inside the car, but it is more of how to jumper the connector under the hood to get the codes to flash. It doesn't really speak to the procedure involved. There is a web site with a good (long) explanation and if I can find it again I will post the addy.

See the running codes article in the tech section. If you have a operating CEL, just jumper the two pins in the EEC TEST connector that the switch in the article go to. After you jumper the 2 terminals, turn the key on, and the CEL will flash codes, and the main fan should run.
