Tcoupe prices

Come on guys this is rediculous. Why are we letting these cars go so cheap? They've got to be worth more than 400-1000 for decent running tcoupes. What is going on?

I feel your pain. They ARE worth more...to us. We're a misunderstood bunch by the rest of the world but we understand each other. I was offered 3000 by a guy I met in a parking lot but I turned him down. I bought it for 1800 six years ago. To me it's priceless.

I paid 3800 last year and have another 8000 in it with all the restorations, stereo, satellite, etc! It's worth $11,500 to me! -Kent

Yeah, I feel mine is worth at least the $10,000 or so I put into my recent buildup. Although my wife calls it the "Big Ugly POS", that I put to much time and money into.

The market at large doesn't have the interest in these cars that we have. Thus, only a small number of people are willing to pay (or able even) to pay a higher amount. This community here is a lot like the Lincoln Mark VII LSC community to which I also belong. Since the cars can be had for such a low price, they are often purchased by folks that really had to scrape together even the $1,000-$2,000 it took to buy the car and then the struggle to pay the prices for the upkeep.
In my case, I've paid through the nose for my last two TCs and definately my Mark VII.
I paid $4000 for my former white 98k mile 88 back in 2002. I paid $5000 for my current 50k mile black 88. I gave over $8000 for my 34k mile Lincoln. The Lincoln was in pristine shape.
(shrug) Some folks say I paid too much for all of them, but in each case I got what I wanted in the car I purchsed.

Look at the cost of a new Lincoln. Or for that matter, any car. You can't get much in intermediate size for less than $20,000. What you paid is still cheap. -Kent

kids like to get them for cheap, beat the crap out of them, then part them out or crush them...

that or the motors/drivetrain get ripped out and end up in a ranger or mustang, then crushed.

These cars are all 20 years old or more. It is all about condition. I think the market will improve with some time...not huge but some time.

The price of gas will help the value as well. What other combination can a goal such as mine be so realistic?

Unless the market picks up on these cars (and I hope it does) we will never get out of them what we have put into them. I guess that's the chance you take when you pursue an avenue of approach to what you want to achieve in the long run.
