TC Total Loss

Some knucklehead hit my TC from the back and ran. It pushed the trunk on the passenger-side almost up the rear window and crunched the quarter panel. It was totaled by my insurance carrier (State Farm) for $3100.00 . I think this was a fair settlement. I bought it back from the insurance carrier for $300.00. This really sucks, especially, since I have lots of new parts on the car and new parts that I was planning to install. Oh well, I guess I'm in the market for another TC.

Oh man... sorry to hear that!!

Did you contact the Police? That kind of damage is gonna be mutual.

I wish you luck on finding another TC man.

That's a bummer! At least you got some decent money from the insurance. You should be able to pick up a fairly nice replacement for that money.

Oh yeah, I got a police report. The officer was surprise the "hit and run" vehicle was able to drive away from looking at the damage to my car. And, of course, no one heard or saw anything. The car was parked on the street and no one was in it. Hopefully, I can find a decent TC.

Being in the northeast, I don't think you'll have any trouble finding a replacement. Glad you're ok. Got any pics of the damage?

That is sad to hear but good that you got a decent settlement for it. You should be able to find a pretty good TC for the amount. Darn good to hear no one was in it when it got rear ended.

Depending on what shape the next TC is in, I will have some nice parts that I will probably need to get rid of. Not sure what parts yet .... stay tuned. I have pic's .... just need to download them from the camera. Hopefully, I will have something by Carlisle time. We are suppose to launch the shuttle in October with the Hubble Space Telescope repair instruments and after that, I will lots of time to "play" with a new toy, TC that is.

Hey cnpowell, I am selling my '88 TC. It is sliver with raven interior, 5-sp, premium sound, pwr mirrors, pdl, p/w, tilt, cruise, power drivers seat. I have just converted the brakes to vac assist, replaced the plugs and wires, new timing belt, new dual exhaust..I removed both mufflers and ran straight pipes with Mustang GT tips to the rear, has good tire tread. The a/c blows very cold, but the clutch is squealing. The car has just over 140K. I am in South Carolina if you are interested. I am asking $2,000 O.B.O. Call me if you need more details. 803-417-6655
