I replaced the tailshaft bushing and now I can't get the driveshaft back on!? Any advice on this? I even (unwisely) tried hammering the damn thing in and then it got stuck and wouldn't turn and it took me 20 minutes to get it back off! Anyone run in to this scenario before??

Brian, did you test fit the bushing onto the driveshaft before you installed the bushing to see how the fit was? How did you install the bushing? Any chance you gouged or nicked or bent in the edge of the bushing during the install?

In answer to your actual question, I have never had this problem on the several tailshaft bushings I have installed over the last few decades, but I have the $100 bushing install / removal tool.

No I didn't test fit the bushing. I got the part number off here. I also have the removal/install tool so I don't think the bushing would have been damaged on install. I'm going to get a new one and try again today.

No go... Second one same result at the first. I don't know what the F the problem is, but I just re-installed the original bushing and am in the process of finishing assembly. I can't afford another day without my ride.
