What is the fluid change interval for the T5? It runs ATF, right?

Is there any other manual that will work with our cars?

Are there any good ways to strengthen the T5 or extend its life?

yes it uses atf, dextron/mercon III. every 30,000 miles. The 5.0 mustang trans will work with a different pilot bearing, but its not geared as low in 1st as the 4cyl trans.

If you want to keep the T5 and will make lots of torque, talk to G-Force. Here is what the parts cost:

I'm not stuck on the T5, I just want to retain a manual transmission.

How much power are you expecting to make Sean?

There's no real end goal, I'm just going to be "improving" and upgrading as budget permits and old parts failures require. I'd be thrilled to see her ever come close to 300 at the wheels, but so far all that's been done is a boost valve (set to 17.5ish PSI when I can find 93 octane, I turn it down if I can only find 91) and a bunch of suspension work.

Ideally this will be my road trip car, it is quiet, extremely comfortable, and crazy fast at interstate speeds....3000rpm at 80mph means the slightest dose of throttle feeds boost. Snap to WOT and she pegs the boost meter immediately and I'm off to speeding ticket territory....

I have owned lots of cars in the last 41 years, and hands down, my TC is the best road trip car I have ever owned. FYI, you left out good gas mileage!

Ha...good gas mileage....I wish! Best I ever saw on a stretch of road trip, cruise set at 81mph running 93 octane and not much in the way of shenanigans, was 22mpg....Which is pretty good until I realize how expensive 93 is.

22 mpg highway is quite low. I get 21-22 average and 75% of my driving is sitting in traffic.

I get 27 to 30 mpg on road trips all the time cruising in the low 70 mph range.
