Any ideas? Recently did a tune up with all the proper stuff....Motorcraft plugs/wires, new cap and rotor, etc. My girlfriend did tell me that a puff of black smoke gets belched every time I mash the throttle.... (she was driving behind me)

the tune is most likely cleaning out the carbon build up. also could be running rich on fuel.

Factory EEC runs pig rich at WOT boost onset and lower boost levels and starts to lean out as RPM & boost goes up. In other words, a SMALL puff of black smoke when you go WOT might be expected.

It is a small one, had a gearhead buddy videotape it while he followed me. Is there much in the way of tuning these ECUs? Moates Quarterhorse or TwEECer?
