T3 Turbo rebuild kit

sorry for asking this question, i did some searches but didn't find anything besides where to buy them.
what entails a rebuild kit, how hard is it to do, and what is the BEST rebuild kit i can get?
Can I upgrade my T3 with ceramic or ball bearings or would that require a while new turbo (center housing, shaft, balance, ect...)
The shaft and impellers seem in good shape (very little play) though i want to rebuild it before i put it in just in case.
is there any special tricks and tips? i already got the exaust housing out...

also while on the subject, I am custom fabbing water lines to fit my 88 for the T3 turbo. i was able to make the feed line easy enough but where do i put the return line? it seems the old line to the block is WAY too small.

i bought the kit. all is well except i cannot get the nut on the shaft off. the turbine has a very wierd triangly nut on the end and i cannot get something to stay on good enough to get the compressor nut off. any ideas on how to do this?

well i bought a nice rebuild kit off ebay. had lots of parts. i was rebuilding the turbo last night, and was in the process of putting it back together. theres a little ring around the shaft on the turbine side i guess its called the piston ring?
well, while trying to put the shaft back it, i bent that ring, and destroyed the shaft and the center housing.

oh joy. a little 1$ part just cost me 400$ or more. what a day. so now i need to find a shaft and center housing, then send the shaft out to get balanced, then shoot myself in the head one more time.

Ya know, yours is not the first horror story I've heard, when it comes to rebuilding turbos. I'm thinking of maybe going this route. $240 ain't bad.

I'm actually thinking i'll just go buy a new center cartridge (including wheel and all) and go for BALL bearing. it shouldn't be much more then 500$.

You can buy just the center housing minus the backplate on ebay for about 70$.
so... i can also go that route or sell what i got. if someone has a busted compressor wheel but a good turbine wheel and shaft then this could be a good deal...

what you get out of turbo shops is if the housing is bad they will bore it out and put in oversized bearings, and also balance the wheel.

well a little update. i bought a GT3071 Dual Ball bearing turbo from Scott. really nice guy and helped a lot in deciding which turbo to get.
I dont have the exact specs with me right now and i bet Scott could give a more accurate description, but i remember its a T3/To4E Hybrid and should support a max of 450 HP. with a BB setup it should spool better then anything out there (and run cooler).
Can't wait to get it and the car back up and running (might be a few weeks).
In addition, all the other work i will be doing includes: replacing the bumper, both fenders, and perhaps ported intake and K&N Cone in the fender.
others to include:
Watercooled IC, Gillis Valve, 3" Exaust, Walboro 255 pump.
Current setup is: Kirban AFPR, 8.8 4.10 rear, new clutch, new Leather interior, Autometer Boost gauge, Autometer O2 gauge.
