Several things about this car scream LOOK OUT!

Antenna on the right rear fender?

The trim panels on the sides... no red stripe....

No Turbocoupe and Thunderbird emblems on the trunk lid...

Rims look like ass...

I sent them an email asking them about original paint and the antenna and got no response.

Not saying that the car couldn't be something nice... but I am not sure how I'd get around the antenna problem. The rest might be fixable if it didn't just cast SERIOUS doubt that the rest of the car was "straight".

Noticed all those things you pointed out myself. For a low mileage car, one has to ask why and what else may be (hidden) with the car.

Well I looked at it also and the vehicle seems nice at best. The fact that the WHOLE car was painted and there is no differentiation from the moldings and the rest of the car makes me wonder. As far as the antenna on the rear of the vehicle I must say I kind of like that. Oh well. Lots of luck to the seller and the new owner

Looks pretty clean to me, if its not original someone put alot of work to make it nice and to be honest, thats good enough for me. I wish my interior looked that nice. Mind looks decent but i really like those nice leather seats. When i paint my car (its black now) I will probably black it out as was done with this car. Maybe use a red stripe???

Before I would go anywhere near this one I'd buy the one that is advertised on this site in GA with 35K miles.

That's the way I'd roll!

Take a REAL close look at the engine. Does that look like a 28k mile engine bay to you guys?? Sure as hell don't look like it to me. Look at the top of the radiator....corrosion.

On top of the things noted above regarding the ant. and wheels...etc etc...the leather and auto turn me off right away anyway...

i'm beginning to wonder about some of the NATO people. first, hatin' on pratically every american made car and now criticizing the hell out of a TC probably a lot nicer than the one they own...

BTW, that corrosion is most like from a leaky radiator cap.

In my case no hate involved. If a car is for sale I think any person looking at it should be very critical in their appraisal to determine what value should be assigned.

When the mileage for a 1988 car is 28k miles, then the car had better be screaming that the 28k miles are legit. If the condition of the car isn't backing it up, then as potential buyers each person SHOULD be suspicious.

IMHO if someone is asking over $2k for a 1988 (and since reserve hasn't been met at nearly $5k) then it damn sure shouldn't have a funky antenna stuck in the rear fender where it has no business being and the side trim shouldn't be painted over. You start getting into these values, in my mind, you are starting to approach collector car. This car has some serious issues if one wants an original, collectible, TC.

But American car hater... my signature block says otherwise! <G>
