I was wondering if anyone has paid much attention to the hole in the tunnel for the manual shift lever on the 87TC's. I noticed that the hole in my car appears to be rough cut with a pair of tinsnips from the underside of the car but looking at it from inside the car it is nice and smooth. There is a plate that is sealed to the floor and you cannot see the "cut job" underneath.
The floor is sealed and has factory paint so it was done by ford.
I have spoke with several long time ford mechanics and they have said that the holes were rough cut at the factory since the TC were originally to all be Automatics then ford decided to keep the manual.
Just curious if anyone else has noticed this.
