I've seen this brought up several times while searching...

What is the benefit of using synthetic lube in the rear end, and what weight would you recommend / why? I've seen several different weights being used. None of the posts I saw on a search revealed why the switch should be made.

The advantages is that it supposedly is a little more slippery helping reduce friction and increase the life of the gears and bearings. However it seems to reduce the lifespan of the axle when they ride directly on the bearings like both the 7.5 and 8.8 do. Supposedly both Moser and Strange recommend using dino oil.
