Just installed Energy Suspension 9.8121G on my '86 Cougar XR7.
Nice kit;
black bushings (OE were blue);
larger diameter bolt than the spindly OE;
bolt & sleeve & washers are a gold finish...

As I went ahead and bought these for my 88, yes they are the same. Bolted right in place of the stock ones.
