Hard to believe I just got erased because I didn't entire a subject... Hope I remember next time.
To simplify it this time around. What is it that makes an 88 SVO 2.3 turbo mustang have a higher HP rating then our 88 TC's?My guess is it must have something to do with the turbo? bobbymac

Well it has a T3 as opposed to the TC's IHI. I don't know what boost they run and I don't know that there are any other physical engine differences between the two.

Its the T3 at 15psi vs the IHI...the engines are basically the same besides the turbo and IC...the SVO isnt quite as efficent as the 87-88 unit...oddly. Also the SVO mayhave a degree or two more timing in it.

My Dads 84 SVO has a PE computer. It runs 10 degrees timing but I think the ignition tables are more aggressive then a LA3. That and the T-3 is probably what did it.
