Im trying to plan an big suspension upgrade. I meed to know if any body has any clever ideas for a good choice.
Right now my PRC is flashing, and no i havnt run the test to count the pulses. I will,,, The car has major squeaks and rattles all over, like surround sound. Obviously needs to be kinda $$$ friendly.

It depends on what you want to do, there is lots of info to be found by searching. If you're looking for better handling you'll probably want to get rid of the PRC in favor of some better traditional struts and shocks like Tokico, Koni, Bilstein. Parts store shocks are only marginal typically, not much different from stock, if not worse. On the front at close to stock ride height you'll want SN95 struts. On the rear you have to use TC-specific parts store shocks like a KYB, or else extend your shock mounts about 3" overall if I remember correctly.

Search this forum using keywords "suspension upgrade" and my user name to read about installing a coil-over front suspension. If you have trouble searching it's explained fully in one of the "sticky" posts.

ive been checking out the max motorsports page this whole week. Looking at the set-up you have put in your bird (Joe).. I dont want or need anything too serious and have about $600 to spend. I would love more handling out of corners, lower the car by like an inch or 1 1/2.. im putting together a list of parts that might work together so that all of you guys can give me amn idea. I dont really mind the rough ride that comes with upgrading the suspension. But I just dont want to throw money at stuff that I dont really need. Im not oo experienced in the suspension dept. Thats where you guys come in. I got school now but ill try to post my list in ther next couple of days, to get some opinions..thanx guys

P.S. I have spoken with gary and am planning on making the 400 mile trek, to carlisle from boston, this year to see what all the talk is about, Hope to meeet you guys there...

Hmm... $600 isn't a lot to work with. Springs, Shocks/Struts, and C/C Plates would eat that up. I would also get a set of SFCs. Then after that I would start replacing control arms or at least the bushings.

This is more opinion than fact, but for real handling out of corners you should spend the $$ on the rear. If your pretty mechanical you can improve the front end with some elbow grease and one of the mustang suspension books.
The worst area of the car is the rear binding up, flexing around.

I think you'd see the most difference with an EVM 3rd link and make a panhard bar (to stay in the $600 limit). But then more you make yourself the more time is added in.

If you shocks/struts are bad then darkthunder is spot on. If the springs aren't too bad save that money for more later on. The SFC's will help a lot.

I went with Qa1 coil-overs and maximum motor sports plates, for just the front was about $650 and $500 for the back its awesome handling but over a total of $1000 for it all
