Check your email. I'm not familiar with the Summit unit but I know that the older MSD units required a separate tach adapter or our cars.

Using an MSD box with the factory tach may be a challenge. Ford usually uses a Dark Green / Yellow wire for coil control and the tach wire. The Electrical/Vacuum manual I have does show that same color code.

It is fed off the coil side like normal but is connected all together from the TFI module, coil, and tach.

You will likely have to kill that wire going to the tach and connect the MSD box there. Supposed to be a black connector (C304) located at "LH dash panel, near windshield wiper motor" that this wire feeds through on position eight.

I'd just trace that dark green/yellow wire back to when it heads back to the instruments, snip it and try to drive it from there making sure to tape off the engine side.

Good luck.

bump does anyone know? Im trying to get the tach working on a Mallory Hyfire 685 and going directly from the tach output on the mallory to the green/yellow wire at the back of the cluster doesnt work. I snipped the green/yellow going to the coil and whatnot, so its a direct connection but that doesnt work.
