We're just back from the ITC convention; Had a GREAT time; lots of really great people, I won a First Place Trophy in the Touring Catigory, and a second place metal in the Olympics. Really happy.
Only 2 tiny little problems; first, early in the week we had rain and had to get to a bird bath, upon our return to the hotel and while drying off the car I noticed something pouring onto the ground, antifreeze? John crawled under the car and wiped off everything and found what looked loke a loose clamp. tightened and we went on our way, I moved the car into itsd parking spot and again noticed something pouring onto the ground? this time it was oil??, Could not find anywhere the oil was coming from??? Everytime we started the car and it got hot either oil or antifreeze would pour out for just a few seconds. Lost one gallen of antifreeze and a quart of oil.???
No one could figure this out!?!?Not even a ford mechanic.
By Wednesday I was ready to sell. Long story short; the antifreeze was coming out of a cracked raditor neck, and the oil? only happened once and nobody knows. Angry
We drove more than 1000 miles, and got home Sunday late afternoon, backed the bird into the driveway to off load the trailer and heard a noise comeing from the Suburban our tow vechile, looked under the hood and the serpentine belt was schredded and the idle pully was pretty much melted; WHAT!!! :crying:
Called the Mechanic and he ,(thank GOD0 made a house call and fixed the Suburban. But now its the t-bird. He said the raditor is under warrenty, but the oil? anybodys guess!! :hellno:

Where, under the car was the oil coming from. Was it under the cracked radiator neck?

check the oil cooler. it could be loose or the gasket could be shot. also check the oil level sending unit on the rear driver side of the pan.

Could possibly be the fuel pump block off plate. We dont actually use one on our cars, but its there just in case someone used the block for a carbed unit.

the oil sending unit and gasket and oil sensor were replaced in May just before we left for Carlisle, did't leak in carlisle. I'm taking her back to my Mechanic next week after I recoupe from our 10 day vacation :giggle:
