stock snowflake offset?

I just got off the phone with tirerack.com. They get all their information straight from the manufacturer, he said that the stock offset for the 1988 TC is +25mm. What I was thinking of earlier was the offset of 17X9 inch rims that will fit our cars. That offset is +17mm.

I would bet that whoever you talked to at the Tire Rack didn’t look up the info for the '87-'88 TurboCoupe but instead for the '85-'86 TurboCoupe with the 15"x7" 10-hole wheel. That wheel does have an offset of +25mm

Formula for converting wheel backspacing to wheel offset:

Backspacing - ( Overall Wheel Width divided x 2 ) = Offset

Stock ‘87-’88 TurboCoupe 16"x7" wheel
Backspacing is 5.25"
Overall wheel width is 8"

5.25" - 4" = 1.25"

1.25" = 31.75 mm

When I measured the backspacing of my ’88 TurboCoupe wheels I rounded the measurement to the nearest mark on my ruler and it was 5.25"
Hybridbird stated that the stock offset was +33mm which if you convert that to inches it comes out to 1.29" which is very close to what I measured so I would say that +33mm is the actual measurement.

What do the Snypers look like? What kind of wheels will you be able to get a discount on at your new store. I'm looking for some 4 lug, polished aluminum cobra r imitations (real thing way to expensive) 17X9, offset +17 or so. Can you get anything like this? I found the cobra rims on the net for $639 a set for the polished aluminum at a site called wheelreplicas.com . If you can beat that then you have some business! Let me know,

Snypers are a 5-spoke wheel,with painted spokes,a polished lip and they are clear coated.They are made by ROH a company from Austrailia,the rears are 17x9 and the fronts are 17x8 both with a +17mm offset the 9's in front were just too stuffed IMHO.I run 255/40's in front and 275/40's in the rear,seems to be enough because this thing sticks!I will not actually be in the new store til after the holiday weekend,and I have been out of the lop for close to 5 months so I will have to check into the new catalogs when I get settled in.I will check for you.The Cobra reps you want we keep in plenty stock in the Ohio warehouse,so getting some shouldn't pose a problem.Only thing is,the only ones we carry are the grey ones and the chrome ones...no polished ones,sorry.By the way,there are pics of the wheels (on my hooptie) in the Carlisle pics section from this year.

Okay Hybridbird, just don't forget to check on those prices and post them as soon as you can. I'm interested in looking at any kind of rim that will fit our cars. Is there a web site that I can go to and see what the company that you'll be working for has? How much do ya want for your snipers? Just wondering...

Yeah,tires.com.....if you put in the same year mustang as your T/C,you will get a few more choices,they don't list all the same for both cars for some reason.Might even try putting in a 91 or newer Mustang so you will get the option of looking for ones for Mustang that came with 16's.Not sure about my wheels yet.I was thinking of doing the 5 lug swap before winter and just getting some steel wheels for now and some Bullitt wheels or something in the spring....unt know yet..I'll keep you posted.
