I know this would be the cheap way and probally wont be any good, but I was wondering how would the STOCK 87-88 TC cam be if you retarded it a few degrees? Do you think it will be able to pull to the rev limiter 6200? I'm having second thoughs of spending 1000+ to do up my head. Plus I have the SVO itch again and want one. Who knows but do you think it will pull to 6200? Anyone do this? Thanks guys.

On its way - T3/T4, BOV, ported lower
Soon to come - Ported head w/ Oversized valves and .450 Rollar

I have heard of a few people doing it with either the stock or RR cams. Don't know how well it works, but probably not a lot with an IHI

See I have a few go fast parts sittin in my garage. I have a ported E6, Gutted upper, 65mm TB, and Air to Water IC. And after X-Mas (T3/T4, BOV and ported lower) the only thing I'd need to get is a Ported Big Valve head and good cam. But I was second guessing putting all that on a 3600lb TC and possibly run 13's when if I put the same stuff in an SVO I'd be able to see 12s. Plus if I got an SVO I woulnt have the problem of the car being my daily driver like the TC. Now I'm thinking of just installing the ported E6, Gutted upper/ported lower, and a T3. I asked the question about the stock internals because I know the stock cam stops pulling very early. I dont know what I wanna do just yet. Any opinions? I know this is a TC site but the weight and daily driver factor are way in favor of the SVO. What do you guys think?

Pat, I'm not so sure it's the stock cam so much as the IHI that runs out of steam.

Maybe I'll put on a T3, ported intakes and E6 and thats it. Think a mid 14 is possible with that? Would probally go with the .48 housing because its geared more for the street.

I think it will have a chance at 13's if you drive it well. The stock cam will be fine to 6200. The ihi is the limiting factor now. That is very similar to Stevex82's combo.
