What that means is that in some part of your TC's past life, someone replaced the slider cam with a roller.

It doesn't apprear to be an A237 and the lobes don't look very tall (hard to tell) but i would guess it's probably a RR

what your looking at is a ranger roller cam.
A2347 cams are a one piece cam with a hex lobe in the center for a 1" wrench to hold it in place when adjusting it.
have a nice day!

I don't think it's a RR. That's the same cam Layla has, and a micrometer said the lobe was taller. Mine also has "1988" cast in it. RR's wern't out in 88, so what the hey is it?? It's a VERY good cam though.

If in fact your cam is causing and idle problem or loping, then you might want to consider a different cam. The overlap that causes the engine to lope isn't desirable in a turbo. It's good in a NA car, but not in a Turbo. This is one of the reason why we only have a few cams to pick from (no overlap). Might want to check in at Turboford and see what those guys have to say. There should be way to verfy what you have.
