Stinger FMIC install questions.

Currently about 1/3 the way through my install and need a few questions answered if possible. The charcoal canister is in the way of my lower boost tube. Has anyone deleted there’s? Im guess I’ll need a vented gas cap and some way to block off the lines running to it. Also there are two vacuum lines that run off the side of the stock intercooler. One of the lines comes off the turbo to the intercooler the other goes from the intercooler to the vacuum tee. I have stingers dual piston blow off valve and it requires one vacuum line. Any input would be great

Thanks In advance

I deleted the charcoal canister and left the line open coming from the tank. The '87-'88 TC's do not have the traditional evap systems of today for the fuel tank. The canister is simply a filter. One end is connected to the tank vent and other to the intake. This allows fumes to be pulled through the canister and then into the intake when running and also vent to atmosphere when not running. I have no issues with my delete and have no fuel smell. For your BOV, it needs a vacuum/boost reference. You can use any connection at the vacuum tree. If you have cruise control, you will have another line going to the original intercooler. It's a boost reference for cruise control for WOT conditions I believe. Regardless, I blocked mine off and cruise control works perfectly. Also, you will want to plumb your valve cover vent line to the intake so it will vent the crank case under boost.

Brad, are you referring to this on the valve cover?

Yes. It's not a PCV valve (that's on the intake), it's a vent which needs negative pressure to help exhaust the crankcase. Connect it to the intake.

When I deleted my factory airbox and installed a K&N in the fender well, all I did was run a longer hose from that breather on the back of the valve cover to the air filter in the fender well. I drilled a hole in the rubber back side of the filter that was slightly smaller than the hose and force fit it in the hole. It is a tight enough fit that I cannot see any light around the hose. I did not simply want to leave it vented to atmosphere as the crankcase vent should have a little vacuum to help it pull fumes out and putting it right at the air filter should provide enough to pull any fumes into the intake.

I fabricated an air box and installed a Vibrant Performance 2895 vacuum fitting on the intake tube.

My breather currently runs from the back of the valve cover to the cold side of my turbo. I’m guessing that’s stock and will work still. I still have a stock ihi. Brad did you delete the vam on your car?

VAM deleted. Went with T3/T4 turbo, Gnari manifold, and PiMPx. VAM and IHI turbo are the biggest restrictions to power IMHO. Going to FMIC alone will help a bit under certain conditions. Again IMHO.

I would like to go t3/t4 currently trying to set the car up to handle that. Front mount first then 3 inch down pipe and all that jazz.
