Try GOJO
I had the same issue with the map pockets on my 88 turbocoupe. When I bought the car from the original owner, the map pockets were not installed on the door panels, instead the previous owner had placed them in the trunk. The mounting tabs had been broken off on both of them, I guess from getting kicked when climbing out of the car. I picked them up and they were sticky, not dirty, no discolored film, they were just sticky and looked like they were sweating. I tried Dawn dishwashing detergent thinking it was a greasy film. They seemed clean for a day or 2 and then were sticky again. So, I tried GOJO hand cleaner, the kind with pumice in it. I rubbed it in for several minutes and rinsed off with clean water and almost a year later they are as good as new.

Thanks 94VERTiGO for being a contributing sticky member....lol
You nailed it with the "sweating" comment,
After I've cleaned mine, a week later, the parts appear to sweat.
I'll give the GOJO a try.
anasazi4st: The car spent its life in the SW PA region until I bought it in late 2016 and dragged it back to Texas.
The guy I bought it from was a member here on this site. Still less than 47K miles.
87 Black 5 spd, 47K miles, all original (minimally modified) survivor.
