Steering Rack to Hose Seals

I replaced the steering rack in the gold car last weekend. It was leaking out the passenger end bad enough that I had to put fluid in it every day. Needless to say the underside of the car on that side is well lubed. I got the rack in and when I went to bleed it I had a major leak. After getting Dad to get in the car and start it for a couple of seconds while I watched the fittings I found it was the pressure line. As the line was tight I decided to take it off again to check the o-ring at the bottom. It wasn't there. After some fishing in the fitting in the rack I retrieved the o-ring and compared it to the one I took out after I retrieved it from the trash can. The new one was bigger, it's no wonder it fell off. I put the old one back on but then ran into a problem. The teflon seals at the top of the line was destroyed from taking it off again. And now I can't find the teflon seals anywhere. Any ideas on where to get the seals?

I had a friend that worked at Advance Auto Parts and he robbed the seals off a new power steering pressure hose for me. That is the only place I could find them. Worked great after that with no leaks.

If you have a harbor freight store in your area, they have assortments of O rings and seals including teflon. You have to buy the kit (different size assortment) but they aren't too much $$$.

I couldn't find them at Harbor Freight but I found that they are available from Ford. The part numbers are 388897-S and 388898-S.

Brian,
You don't happen to know the Help part number do you? I'd like to get a pack or to to keep on hand.
Thanks

I don't even have that car anymore, but I do have it's replacement still. I have a bunch of Fox Mustangs though so I'm sure I'll still need it again at some point.
