Steering rack replacement

So my steering rack is leaking pretty badly, and I need new inner tie rods anyway, so I just thought I would replace the whole steering rack w/inner tie rods. My question is what the difference is between the two available Sport racks? One is TRW, one is Ford. One is one piece, one is two piece. I know somebody mentioned that the bushing size is different for the mounting points, but I haven't seen that anywhere else. I could just take it off and take the whole unit to Autozone to match it up, but it's the only vehicle that I have, and I don't want to make a friend drive me there.

Any word on the difference(s)?

Just make sure the ratio is 15:1 and 2.5 turns lock to lock. That is the one for the 87-88 T/C. They do have it listed that way at Autozone and it is the correct one. If it is leaking just replace the whole thing (much easier). I replaced mine 2 years ago. Good luck.

Yea, the bushings are different. I can't remember now which is which. One has a 2 part bushing and the other is a single bushing per mount point. Also, as best as I can remember, the bushings have different diameters. I would suggest you take the old one off and look at the mounting bushings to be sure. And like zbird said, be sure you get a 15:1 ratio rack.
