Steering noise

I know this subject has been beat into the ground but I was wondering if anyone has any new input on the subject of power steering pump whine. My steering works fine but I just can't stand the whine noise, the car would sound so much better without it!!!
I've tried bleeding the air out several times, the fluid is clean, not foamy, but the noise is still present.
Has anyone had any luck with those AGR Performance pumps?I don't want to buy one and still have the same noise.
Any help/recommendations/info greatly appreciated.

How old is the pump? My old pump was real noisy when cold, made some noise the rest of the time but otherwise seemed to work fine . It was the original pump that came with the car, so I just replaced it when I replaced the steering rack and tie rod ends.
The new pump was a cheap reman unit from Auto Zone. It's much quieter than the old one, if you listen closely when turning in a parking lot or driveway you can hear a slight whine, but in normal driving you can't hear it.
I read about the AGR units when I was researching the P/S pump replacement. Seems like people who have installed them like them, reportedly they are very quite. They are 3~4 times more expensive than a reman pump, however.

I recently replaced it with a reman from Carquest.Their stuff is usually pretty good. It's a little quieter that the other one was but still too loud for me.
I wouldn't mind spending the money for the AGR pump if I knew for sure it would be quieter.
Anyone used one of these? Results?
