ok guys ive been slowly getting parts for my build and I need some advice on some things
this is what im going to be running:
gt3582r turbo
stinger header
stinger down pipe with electronic cut out at the end
boport stage 3 cam (holding me back right now)ordered jan 17
professionally ported head
big valves, doubled springs , solid lifters, roller rockers
redoing all the intercooler piping in 3 inch
pimp standalone and other small things

now heres where I need help...
1. what do I need to do about fuel? will a 255 fuel pump be enough? I know injectors but idk which #s I need right now..

2.transmission thought about switching back to auto

3. what are the limits to a stock block? I don't mean the stock rods and crank and pistons...

im sure im forgetting some stuff

I'm not a expert here but I think a 255 pump should be fine

As for a transmission, what are you using the car for? If this is a street car then I personally would keep a manual transmission, but if this car is going to be used for alot of drag racing, especially bracket racing, I would go with a automatic.

I'm sure I've heard of 500hp being made with the stock block and rotating assembly, not sure as to the reliability but possible.

A bad tune can break parts at 200hp, so build it well and tune it well. Smile

How high do you plan on revving it? I personally dont exceed a 6500-7k redline on a rebuilt block with stock internals.

Give yourself headroom on injectors, I run low-z 75#, depending on your power goals you might need more.

Agree with Scott on the trans, auto for competition drag use, manual for everything else. I prefer manual all day.

I'm aiming for a weekend toy car something I can race but still drive on the road (not everyday) but on nice clear days lol...I thought about keeping it 5 speed but I converted it using mustang stuff so it's a cable clutch system and I've always had clutch issues bc of the adjustment so it seems easier and cheaper to go back auto ...the reason I was asking about the block limits is bc I was wanting to make a stroker in the near feature and wanted it to turn 9k but I didn't know if the block would handle that
