Hey guys,

Yesterday morning I went to start the tc to move it into the garage since it was goin to rain. I go to start the car up and starter got stuck and was still engaged when the car was running. I shut the car down but the starter was still trying to turn it over. I jumped out and undid the battery cables. Later on in the day I came home from and popped the battery cables back on and started the car. It ran fine for a couple seconds then started bucking and sputtering then quit. I pushed it into the garage and started it again and noticed the radio would flicker on and off while it was running, it only runs for about 20 seconds. What do you guys think it might be? Starter solenoid?

The started relay/solenoid would be a good place to start looking. Do a search, I seem to remember reading a thread about that problem a while back.

What lonstar said... also if the starter is trying to energize it will draw a lot of current so that could be part of you other odd electrical issues? Not definite just a thought.

Thanks, I got it figured out. The battery positive wire's plastic around the outside had cracked and exposed some wire which was grounding out. I bought a new wire and all seems to be good now Smile Now on to install all my sensors!!!

I think I would still swap out that starter solenoid. Especially if you think its the original, or carry a screw driver so you can whack it when it sticks next time.
