I removed the hoses. I cant remember the last time I had that much fun. Two of the six clamps broke off when I touched them. The hoses and intake fitting were all clear/ unobstructed. I hope its a bad ECT. Ford said its $68.

I can truly feel your unbridled joy through the key board
Look for the ECT on line, try Rockauto or Fordparts.com Anybody git any other parts sites. Might be cheaper that way.

Thank you for your help.
The new ECT fixed the problem. I also replaced the three coolant hoses below the intake as a precaution. All of the hoses were available at my local Advance Auto Parts store.

I was wrong. It was cool out when I tested it. Today the temp is 75 and it died on the road. It still seams to be electronic. It cuts on and off (not like out of fuel) then will stall. If it sits for a few min it will restart (has an odd smell) with no power and will stall again.
Any ideas? Ignition switch again?

If it stalls when hot and only restarts when it cools off, that could be a bad TFI on the distributor.
Is this a new problem, that just started, or has it been going on for awhile?

It has a new Ford TFI. I did not apply the grease because I was swapping it out with two other TFI's I had. I did this in an efffort to narrow down the problem. Would the lack of grease cause it to fail?
When its hot and stalls I would let it sit for a few hours and when I return to try and start it the cooling fans would turn on before the car even starts.

Definitely, because the grease helps dissipate the heat quickly. That is the reason most TFI's fail is because of heat.

Would the heat conducting grease or lack of it on the TFI also cause the strange cooling fan issues?
I will change the TFI right now and get right back to you.
