hey i recently got a code 41 for pip circuit failure the car was starting then shutting down so i replaced dist with new used one that was in car prior to rebuild.
and the car still cuts off after start up and is frustrating the fuel pressure is 40 at idle and the car takes a while to start it just cranks then finally cranks and starts and runs but stalls any thoughts the vam is new fuel pump and regulator,tps thanks

So your saying the car fires up then stalls out. Does it start and run at all. The new distibutor you replaced, your original quote is new used one.??? Did you get it from a parts car or swap it at a parts store. Is your TFI a motorcraft one??

yes it runs but stalls usually a few minutes later.the dist is one that was installed on it until i parked it and decided i had to have everything new big mistake !yes the tfi is a ford part and the dist is also ford

Check the connector to the TFI for dirty, coroded, pushed out pins. Wiggle it and see if you can get the car to stall. Also wiggle the TFI harness back to the firewall.

BTW, I assume you mean you got a code 14, not 41.

cked that out today and car still cranks for about 15 seconds then starts but when running it stumbles then cuts off event with the oe dist in,i did switch froma la2 computer to a la3 when car was getting rebuilt could i poss have a bad comp?tps voltage is .94 fuel pressure stays at 40 at idle and has no vac leaks,the vam is new im stumped and ready to sell it if i cant get the car to stay running,this is my toy and my everyday driver had electrical fire same day this all started bad luck i guess

oh yea and i left batt disconnected for 2 days to clear codes however i think the 14 code came back or is still there how do i clear it?
