I have an 87 turbo coupe 134k. the car runs great even though the front shocks are a little tired. It bounces a little after hitting a bump.
The only thing that drives me crazy is that the doors squeek. It sounds as though it is coming from the striker pins. But i did notice that it squeeks when I accelerate, decelerate, hit bumps and even jack up the car. I checked the door hinges and they are tight. I am beginning to think it is the unibody flexing causing the doors to squeek.
Anyone else have this problem. I thought about putting some extra supports on the underside to tighten things up a little

I checked the door panels and they are on tight. I even removed the drivers side panel and the door still squeeked.

I had a squeaking door- replacing the striker bolt fixed my problem.
I got a new striker bolt at carquest, made by Motormite AKA "HELP!"- ran about 5-6 bucks. They have a new plastic or rubber bushing on them.

My 87 is squeaking on the weather stripping along the top of the door and roof. If I push or pull on the door the squeak goes away. Is there any adjustment on the striker/latch ? Seems as if it only need about 1/16 one way or the other.
Thanks for any feedback

Is the light gray plastic cylindrical insulator on the striker still there? It tends to break off as it gets brittle with age. Dorman replacements are available.
Yes, the striker is adjustable over a limited range.

None of the Doorman bushings would fit inside the door catch. I’d have to machine them down to get a thickness of about .01â€. Probably need to make a custom one on the lathe.
Btw I move the bolt about 1mm and it did the trick. Squeaky door gone and it still shuts very easily.
