I'm looking for Springs for an '87 Tc to make the car ride lower and firmer...
Who makes them?

Nobody makes them anymore. There were sets available through Eibach and H&R. Keep an eye out for a used set. There is a set of Eibachs for sale on the turboford.org site.

Ive tried to talk to eibach but they have nothing to help, i had eibach 1-1.5" lowering springs but misplaced the rears, so i put the fronts in and cut the rears about a coil and a quarter to a coil in a half. I think this combination makes the car go from handling good to great, very little body roll at all, and it looks better. I dont know where you can get springs for this car except to get stiffer than the ones you have and then cut or get lucky about the size of them to get the correct stance you want. There is a huge difference in the mustang spring pound rating for example on the rear this is what eibach used to sell for the tbird and the current mustang 79-93: (progressive rate) tbird, 1st rate = 500lbs, 2nd rate = 700lbs, mustang conv(heavier) 1st rate = 175lbs 2nd rate = 314lbs, i dont know about the front of a V8 mustang compared tho, call eibach or ford or someone that might know spring ratings. I thought about putting eibach mustang rear springs in but i think they would be to soft, and i would be better off with shorter stock rear springs, so i cut them with a grinder cutting wheel, plus the eibach rear springs seemed to sag alot with passengers, so it shouldnt now. I dont really know what to say except stiffer springs will handle better, so just cutting stock springs will only affect the looks. I would search for comparable spring rates to what eibach used to sell and then try to find a physical match of height and useability. Personally i think from what i have found out that mustang springs would be to soft, although like i said front mustang springs may be stiffer (V8) more wieght. If you do decide to cut the springs make sure with the shocks/struts fully extended out the spring is not loose and has pressure on it, thats the only thing that will keep the springs in the car if you go over a hill and get some air, or anything like that. Hopefully someone else will have better advice to what springs to use. Good luck.

I just tried a set of springs from a 96 GT and it handled, "like it was on rails"! The car felt very tight, and eager to tear thru corners. But the front springs from the GT are only a little shorter than stock while the rears are a full coil shorter. Both front and rear from the GT have a higher spring rate, but the fronts are MUCH higher, so I ended up with a TC that looked like I just launched at 3500rpm- sitting still. It looked bad, so I put the stock rears back on and left the GT springs up front.

My plan- Mustang 4cyl fronts, GT rears.

I bought Suspension Techniques and they are pretty firm.
I am just using the back ones now and some clipped V-8's in the front.
I would use shortened V-8's before 4 cyl ones. There is only something like 40 lbs difference between the V-8 and turbo 4 cyl.

Hehe.. thanks for the help guys..
I won't be cutting springs on any car, anytime soon.. It's a bit too honda-ish for my tastes.. I think I might try the GT springs and try to find some good springs for the back.. *sigh* this car is a pain in the ass..!

I used the rear springs off a 94 stang and the front Springs off a 4 cyl. I got rid of the prc's and just put in standard macphersons. It dropped the car 1.5" and it handles like its stock. I guess I'm just lucky [Image: smile.gif]
