damn I knew i forgot something. the spout was in when i set timing. reason being was i didnt do it. my fathers friend did it. ill effects from this? he set it to 10 degrees advance with spout in so i guess i should fix this tomorrow. this could be the problem of my lack of power higher up.

YES. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe your EEC is actually RETARDING the timing up top when you set it like this! I had the same problem when I couldn't find the EEC disable jumper on my grandma's Geo.

Ryan is right.... at 1000 RPM hot idle, computed timing is around 28 deg. With timing set to 10 deg with the SPOUT plug in, the whole timing curve is about 18 deg retardrd from where it is supposed to be. I'll bet that thing can barely get out of its own way with the timing set like that!

I did something sort of similar when I was going through the white car. I set the timing, spout out, then forgot to put it back. I went for a test drive and couldn't figure out where the performance went. That lasted abut a minute, then I realized what was going on. It does not run well on 12* total advance

Timing that retarded will make the car feel as powerful as an SUV powered by a lawn mower engine.
