speedometer acuracey

after reading one of the other posts I was wondering when I do my auto to manual tranny swap what will I need to do to have my speedo right? the rear gear ratio is different on the 5 speed & auto cars, and do they use the same drive gear? any help ? thanks

There are different drive gears available to compensate. Maybe someone else can give you a source. I think you can get them through Ford, not sure

You can get drive gears form Ford for about $8. I think you can get 18, 19, 20, 21 tooth gears. Just ask for the gear for a 5.0 Mustang w/ T5 tranny, as they are the same as the TC T5 gears.

Just so the rest of us know, how do you decide which drive gear you need? I know after the 3:73 swap my speedo reads off by about 5mph.
