Speedo gave up ghost

Well, been a long time gone, but back with a ded speedo. Not the vss, both odometers work as does the cruise. Could be the printed circuit but could be just ded. Check the pic, the damaged parts go thru the check turbo light & the brake light, both of which work. And I have no idea what the bar the arrow is pointing to is. Any ideas?
Any and all help greatly apreciated.

Have you traced the circuitry on the back of the circuit card from the three gold screws on the back of the speedometer?

I should have thought my response out last time before posting.

Okay, if the odometer is working, all of your wiring going into the speedometer is okay. When I was doing the calibration experimenting, the odometer motor would only work when the needle moved. So, if your odometer works, that means that the wiring is good and the speedo itself has problems. Is there something that is keeping the needle/speedo mechanism from moving? Have the internal springs been bent? Have you tried a spare speedometer? If you can get to a salvage yard, you may be able to find one cheap. I have a spare that I'm not really trying to sell that has been sort of calibrated. (a real small error for 0 to 50, but reads 3mph high at 80mph, and due to the current weight position, will be a bit of a trick to fix more than that. Yes, it can be done, but I am too lazy at the moment to try that particular trick, especially with a T5 in the trunk, and a flywheel and clutch parts in the back floorboard.)

If you can't find a better deal on a speedo closer, and you can't fix yours, let me know and I'll send my spare to you for $15 shipped. Not really trying to sell it, but if you need a spare more than me, I'll try to help. I'm sure someone can beat that price, though, (probably the local junk yards,) and I hope someone does.

Mike thanks for the offer but I should be able to find a speedo in the local jy's. The springs look sprung, don't know what they looked like before, nothing impeding the needle. I went to one jy today & they had a cluster from a TC they had already crushed:-(they let me plug it in & drive around the lot. Even after sittin outside in the weather everything but the speedo worked. Couldn't find any 87 or 88's with the dials. Would a digital just plug in the same spot? If it will I'll just go digital if I can't find an analog. You never know when you might need your spare.

the digital stuff is all different. There are often clusters on Ebay

Thanks Pete. I think I'll stick with analog, call me old fashioned but I like them better. Do you know if any other (just) speedo's will fit in our clusters? If so, what years & models. I'm currently using Walsteds calculations to judge my speed. I think they are as accurate as can be. thanks for providing those Mike.
