smoking tc

Help my car is smoking so bad. It started when one day I was parking my car. I had to turn the steering all the way to the left. I heard a pop. Then my car started to smoke. It wasn't the oil smell though it was a different smell. Now whenever I take of from a light it blows out massive amounts of smoke out the ehaust. Sometimes when I sit at a white smoke billows from underneath my car also now. If a cat was put back on would that burn some of the smoke. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with my TC .... it has an auto trans. The problem was a bad diaphragm in the solenoid valve for the trans that caused trans fluid to be sucked thru the vacuum line into the intake. I replaced the solenoid valve and problem (white smoke) went away. If your car is an automatic, check the solenoid valve. Hope this helps.

No mine is a 5 speed but how can I find out if I have a solenoid valve.

Could be a blown oil seal in your turbo (ask Methos !). Pull off the Intercooler and see if there is any oil around the turbo center section of exhaust elbow.

Could also be a valve stem seal, however would likely be more blue smoke than white ???

Crawl under the car and look for obvious sources of fluid leaks...

I feel it maybe the Turbo issue. I saw some oil around the turbo. I couldn't figure why it was there.
